After working as a Community Development professional for over 25 years, including four years of direct experience as a Perinton Deputy Town Clerk, I look forward to bringing my experience and proven dedication to community service to the Office of the Perinton Town Clerk.

FEMA Disaster Recovery Specialist 2017 – Present

  

  • Assist disaster damaged communities with creating a recovery plan and developing programs to efficiently utilize government and private funds for disaster mitigation, housing rehabilitation, and economic recovery
  • Develop strategies for local governments and not-for-profit entities to track and document eligible cost related to the Covid-19 pandemic
  • Work directly with Town Public Works and Town Clerks to quantify, define and report disaster impacts on roads, culverts and bridges and complete FEMA Site Inspection Reports
  • Provide ongoing internal project oversight and maintain data through the FEMA Grants Portal that tracks and monitors budgets, payments, project schedules, eligible and ineligible costs, client expenses and ongoing reporting

Town of Perinton Deputy Clerk 2012 – 2016

  

  • Responsible for daily interface with the public, accepting tax payments, Passport processing, Notary services, Hunting and Fishing Licenses and served as representative for the Town Clerk 
  • Processed and monitored requests through the Freedom of Information Law 
  • Coordinated the intake of Special Use Permit applications and monitored the approval processes of the Town Board, Planning Board and Architectural Review Board, and assisted the Monroe County Board of Elections with coordinating election locations within the Town
  • Managed Town’s data entry for accounts payable, developed long term records management protocols and conducted close-outs for New York State funded records management grant

Community Development Consultant 2009 – 2012

  

  • Research federal and state grant sources for the development of housing projects, collaborative community programs and economic development initiatives 
  • Write grant applications for various funding sources including NYS CFA, HCR, HFA, OPWDD & FHLB, REDC, NYS CDBG-DR and supplemental sources for disaster damaged communities

City of Rochester Senior Community Housing Planner 1997 - 2009

  

  • Secured over $5M in funding from New York State through the Neighborhood Stabilization Grant (NSP/CFA) application on behalf of Monroe County and the City of Rochester for economic development and affordable housing activities
  • Managed the team responsible for implementing the HUD 602 program also known as the Asset Control Area Program (ACA) which allowed the City to acquire, rehabilitate and sell over 800 HUD owned foreclosed homes over an 8-year period
  • Developed record keeping procedures and a custom data base to ensure compliance with audit requirements set forth by the HUD Inspector General, the City’s internal audit bureau and independent program auditors 
  • Coordinated a Focused Investment Strategy (FIS) team which required collaboration with local businesses, landlords, community stakeholders, City and County representatives to develop an investment and leveraging plan to improve the economy and appearance of a concentrated neighborhood
